I recieved a lot of Waaagh! Comments on the last frame of the last page. I want to give you ample warning. Mel Gibon was once confronted by a reporter who was squalling about the violence in Braveheart. Mel responded,(paraphrase) "If you are going to show violence, be violent. Don't glamorize it. Show it as it is." Its a philosophy I plan to follow here as well.
Renaissance warfare was brutal. Low velocity lead bullets that mushroom on impact. Cannonballs running down the length of files of men. Cannister fired at point blank range. Cavalry running down broken men with sabers. I dont plan on being overly gratuitious, but there will be more graphic realistic scenes like the last frame in the future. So I give you all warning in advance. |
