The picture shows Thad working on his uniform and basic Kit. From the left to right: Thad is polishing his boots and sitting in the standard issue trousers and shirt, held up by suspenders. On the ground is his pack, which is trailing the tie straps for his tarp and bedroll. His Musket is leaning on the fence next to his cartridge case, canteen, powder horn (Finely milled for his flint pan) and then his bayonet and Beret. The bedroll is on the ground, wrapped by the tarp. On the fence is his belt that holds the bayonet. This is usually covered by the blue cummerbund (Spelling?) that is visible peeking out from under the uniform blouse when fully dressed. His shoulder scarf and uniform blouse complete the kit. On top of his backpack are the cummerbund and shoulder scarf pins. Inside the pack would be his change of clothes, mess kit and latrine kit and any other knick knacks he would carry.
